Who Am I?

My name is Jhorman Caballero, I am 20 years old, and I am studying for a bachelor's in Software Engineer at Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia. Furthermore, I am taking courses in Django and JavaScript because I am in love with Web Development.

Since I was a kid, I was interested in electronic devices and how they work, in turn, that is the reason why I was attracted to programming and software-related topics. Also, I am always open and motivated to learn new things about languages, frameworks, design patterns, applications, and teamwork.

Lastly, my project in life is to work in the fields that I like, always learning new things, and meeting new people with the same interests and energy.

Projects

Safet (08/2021 - 12/2021): Safet is a project that seeks to connect builders with medium and small size organizations, in order to make refurbishments to their facilities. It was developed using Python, HTML, CSS and JavaScript in Django, and deployed using AWS.

Discomovil (01/2021 - 06/2021): Disvomovil is a web page for renting party equipment as well as hiring musical groups. It was developed in Java EE using JPA and JAX-RS for the backend and Angular for the frontend.

Hobbies & Interests

  • Since I entered the university, I'm in love with web development.
  • I'm interested in front-end and back-end frameworks as React, Sass and Django.
  • I play tennis since I was 11 years old, it is one of my favorite hobbies.
  • My favorite band is Twenty One Pilots. I've heard almos every of their songs.
  • My favorite song from their last album is Redecorate. It conveys a lot of emotions and much to think about.
  • In my trips, I take photos of almost everything for saving memories.
  • I like playing video games. My favorite one is 'BioShock Infinite'.
  • In my free time I usually look for courses or new things to learn about software development.

Academic Background

I'm actually majoring in Software Engineering and coursing my seventh semester in the University of Los Andes. I've taken a lot of courses, such as: "Algorithmic and Object Oriented Programming" I and II in Java, "Fundamentals of Technological Infrastructure", "Data Structures", "Team Software Development", "Mid-career Project", "Transactional Systems", "Software Architecture and Design", "Programming with Web Technologies", etc. Lastly, I've taken courses outside of the university, like "Introduction to Python" in Coursera and "CS50's Web Programming with Python and JavaScript" in EdX offered by Harvard.
